NOVEMBER 2025 UPDATES
WEATHERING THE STORM TOGETHER: A NOTE FROM THE GATES OF EDGEHILL
In the quiet after the storm, our thoughts are first and foremost with our neighbors, friends, and the families across Jamaica who are navigating the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. We know that for many in St. Mary and along the north coast, the past few weeks have been incredibly difficult. To everyone facing the challenge of rebuilding, we extend our deepest sympathies and solidarity.
Amidst the recovery efforts across the island, we have received many inquiries regarding the status of The Gates of Edgehill. It is with a deep sense of gratitude that we share that our community came through the event safely, with no material impact to the site.
We are incredibly thankful that our residents are safe and that the homes remain secure.
Grateful for Our Geography
While we have always valued our location for its beauty, events like this remind us of the protective nature of this landscape. Situated in the rolling hills of St. Mary, rising toward the Blue Mountains, our community benefited greatly from the natural topography during the storm.
- Natural Drainage: Our position on the hillside allowed for effective natural drainage, keeping the grounds clear of the flooding that unfortunately impacted lower-lying areas.
- Sheltered Position: The contours of the hills and our distance from the coastline helped buffer the site from the most severe surge and wind impacts.
- Moving Forward: As we resume normal operations, we are mindful that recovery is a community effort.
- Site Update: We are proceeding with our scheduled works for the upcoming phases
- Our Commitment: We remain committed not just to building homes, but to being a steadfast part of the St. Mary community as it heals and rebuilds.
We invite you to visit us when the time is right. Until then, stay safe, look out for one another, and know that we are building a future here, together.
